About

Carol Barreyre, marketing, media relations, writing consultant

Carol Barreyre is a senior communications strategist and executive advisor who helps leaders and organizations find clarity and credibility when reputation matters most.

She works with startups, mid-sized companies, nonprofits, and complex organizations as a fractional communications leader, executive advisor and strategic consultant, often stepping in when messaging decisions are high-stakes and leadership judgment is under scrutiny. Carol is frequently engaged during periods of transformation, rapid growth, strategic reset, or heightened public or stakeholder attention.

With more than 20 years of experience, Carol brings a rare combination of strategic insight and practical execution. She has worked across corporate, nonprofit and startup environments, advising leaders in technology, financial services, healthcare, energy, government, and consumer sectors. Her background on both the client and agency sides gives her a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the pressures leaders face when aligning strategy, narrative and action.

Carol is known for her ability to quickly understand complex organizations, ask the right questions, and translate nuanced ideas into clear, compelling communications that resonate with the stakeholders who matter most. Her work spans leadership communications, organizational messaging and brand narrative, reputation and risk readiness, and executive advisory—always grounded in business objectives and long-term credibility.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Carol is an Accredited Business Communicator and a past president of IABC Dallas and chair of the IABC Southern Region. She is a frequent speaker on many business communication-related topics.

Carol is also an award-winning fiction author writing under the name Addison Brae. Her work as a novelist informs her approach to narrative, voice, and audience connection—skills that deeply influence her strategic communications work. She’s a member of the International Thriller Writers, The Authors Guild, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and past SCBWI North Texas regional advisor.
